In relation to the Law for the Repression of Violence against Women,

The main headline of the day is: ‘Changing the definition of rape, management information systems best universities, third gender included in the proposal.’

According to the report,

There is nothing clear about the third gender identity in the existing Prevention of Abuse of Women and Children Act in Bangladesh.

So, if someone is of the third gender, the case becomes complicated.The policy proposal recommends adding a clear clause for citizens of the third gender (transgender) to obtain justice in the draft of the new Law.

The word “child” has been omitted from the draft of the new Law.

Apart from this, the definition of rape will also change.In the contemporary reality of many countries around the world,

sexual assault and perverted sexual behavior are considered rape.

In light of this, the draft says to expand the definition of rape.

Views of various stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies, on the Law have already been sought.

Human rights activists see this change as positive, especially the proposal to include the issue of the third gender in the new Law.
